Those are the three words Leaforo picked for itself, and they're the whole plan.

We're a small shop, not a warehouse. That's the point. Nobody gets herded through a rope line here — you get a person who actually knows the shelf, has time to answer the question you're slightly embarrassed to ask, and won't upsell you into something you didn't want.

The big operations down the road have bigger budgets. We compete on the two things that actually matter at the counter: really good prices and a room you want to hang out in for five minutes.

No prices, no strain names, no percentages on this page. The shelf changes often, so the honest answer is always: call us or walk in and ask.

    Flower

    The dried, cured bud itself — sold loose by weight, smoked or vaporized. The oldest format and still the one most people mean when they say cannabis. You can smell it, look at it, and pick with your own eyes.

    Wax, shatter, badder, rosin, live resin, hash. Cannabis stripped down to its strongest parts, meant for a dab rig or a vaporizer built for it. Strong, fast, and not the place to start.

Section 04 / The old map · 1:15 PM

Indica, sativa, hybrid —
a rough map, not a rulebook.

You'll hear these three words constantly, and they're useful the way "spicy" is useful on a menu: directionally true, wildly imprecise. They started as botany terms about how the plant grows, not about how you'll feel. Two products labelled the same way can land completely differently.

Indica

Shorthand for the heavier, more settled end. People reach for it later in the day, on the couch, at the end of a long one. Traditionally the short, broad-leafed plant.

Hybrid

A cross between the two — which, after decades of breeding, is essentially everything on every shelf in America. The percentages on the label ("70/30") are the grower's own claim, not a lab result.

Sativa

Shorthand for the brighter, more social end. Daytime, conversation, going somewhere. Traditionally the tall, narrow-leafed plant.

The better question to ask us: not "do you have an indica," but "what do you want the next three hours to look like, and how much experience do you have?" Terpenes, the format you choose, and the amount you take will shape the experience more than the word on the jar.

    THC % vs. mg

    Percent is for things you inhale — flower and concentrate. Milligrams are for things you swallow or drop. They are not interchangeable, and a percentage on an edible tells you almost nothing useful.

  2. 2

    Per serving vs. per package

    The single most common mistake in cannabis. A bag prints the whole-package total on the front in the largest type, then holds a row of individually-dosed pieces inside. One piece is a serving. The bag is not a serving. Find the small number, not the big one.

  3. 3

    Terpenes

    The aromatic compounds that make one jar smell like pine and the next like lemon peel or diesel. Increasingly the thing regulars actually shop by — often a better predictor of the experience than the indica/sativa label.

  4. 4

    Batch, lot, and test dates

    Everything legal in New Mexico is tracked and lab-tested before it reaches a shelf. The batch number ties your package to its test results, and the packaged-on date tells you how fresh the flower actually is. If a package has none of this, it didn't come from a licensed shop.

Bring the package back in if a number confuses you. We would genuinely rather explain it twice than have you guess.

Section 06 / The door · 4:00 PM

Your first
visit, start
to finish.

Nobody should feel stupid walking into a dispensary. Here's the whole thing, in order, with no surprises.

  1. 01

    Bring a valid government photo ID

    Unexpired driver's licence, state ID, passport, or military ID. You must be 21. There is no medical exception, no "I left it in the car," and no amount of looking 40 that gets you past this. Out-of-state IDs are fine — the age is what matters.

  2. 02

    ID check at the door

    Someone will greet you and scan or check your ID before you get to the shelf. It takes seconds. We do it every time, for everyone, including the people who were in yesterday.

  3. 03

    Say what you actually want

    The most useful sentence you can give a budtender isn't a strain name — it's "I've never done this, I don't want to be knocked sideways, and I have work tomorrow." Tell us your experience level, how you'd like to take it (smoke, vape, eat), roughly what you want to spend, and what the rest of your day looks like. We'll take it from there.

  4. 04

    Start low and go slow

    It means: take the smallest amount, then wait. One puff, wait fifteen minutes. Half a gummy, wait two full hours before even thinking about more. Almost every bad first experience is somebody re-dosing before the first dose arrived. You can always take more. You can never take less.

  5. 05

    Pay, pack up, and get home

    Cash, debit, or CashApp at the counter — there's an ATM inside if you need it. Everything leaves in a sealed, labelled exit package. Keep it sealed in the car, keep it away from kids and pets at home, and don't drive after.

Section 07 / Never leave the car · 5:20 PM

Drive-thru
& curbside.

Las Cruces gets the drive-thru, and it works exactly how you'd hope: you stay in the car, we bring it to the window, you're back on Amador in a few minutes.

A Drive-thru

  1. Call 575-449-4705 and tell us what you want, so it's ready when you arrive.
  2. Have your ID out. It gets checked at the window, same as inside.
  3. Pay at the window: cash or debit. CashApp is in-store only.
  4. Sealed package handed over. Keep it sealed while you drive.

B Curbside

  1. Call ahead and say you'd like curbside.
  2. Park out front and call again when you're there.
  3. ID checked at your car window by a staff member.
  4. Cash or debit at the car, same sealed exit packaging.

Both run the full 10am–10pm, every day. If the window's busy, the counter inside usually isn't.

How to pay.

Cannabis is still awkward with banks, so dispensary payment rules look strange from the outside. Ours are simple, and worth knowing before you're standing at the counter.

  • Cash — always works, always fastest.
  • Debit — accepted at the register.
  • ATM inside — right there if you need to pull cash.
  • CashApp — in store only. Not over the phone, not for curbside, not through the window. In person, at the counter.

Cash is the frictionless one. If you're doing drive-thru or curbside, bringing cash or a debit card keeps you moving.

    21 and over, with a valid government photo ID

    Every purchase, every visit, no exceptions. Buying for someone under 21 is illegal and it's the fastest way to cost a shop its licence — so please don't ask us.

  2. 02

    There's a cap on how much you can buy at once

    New Mexico limits the amount an adult can purchase in a single transaction, and it's counted separately for flower, for concentrate, and for edible milligrams. The register tracks it as it rings you up — ask us at the counter for the current figures rather than trusting a number you read online.

  3. 03

    No consuming in public

    Not on the sidewalk, not in the parking lot, not in your car, not in a park. Private property, with the owner's permission. Landlords and hotels can say no, and many do.

  4. 04

    Never drive under the influence

    New Mexico treats impaired driving as impaired driving regardless of the substance, and there's no legal amount that makes it fine. Keep your purchase sealed and out of reach while the car is moving. Get a ride.

  5. 05

    Don't take it across state lines

    Cannabis is still federally illegal, so crossing any state border with it is a federal matter — even into another legal state. Texas is a short drive from Las Cruces, and Texas law is not New Mexico law. What you buy here stays here. Same goes for airports and tribal land, which have their own rules.

  6. 06

    Buy from licensed shops only

    Licensed product is tracked, lab-tested, and labelled with its batch. That's the entire point of a legal market — you know what's in the package, and somebody's name is on it.

Do I need a medical card?

No. Leaforo is a recreational (adult-use) dispensary. If you're 21 or older with a valid government photo ID, you can shop.

What ID do you accept?

Any unexpired government-issued photo ID: driver's licence, state ID card, passport, or military ID. Out-of-state IDs are fine — you just have to be 21 or older. We check every visit, every customer.

What are your hours?

10:00am to 10:00pm, every day of the week, including weekends. Drive-thru and curbside are available the entire time.

Can I order online?

Not yet — online ordering isn't live. Right now the fastest route is to call 575-449-4705 and order ahead, then collect at the counter, at the curb, or through the drive-thru. Join the list further down the page and we'll let the list know the day it goes live.

How does the drive-thru work?

Pull into the lane — call ahead on 575-449-4705 if you'd like it ready — show your ID at the window, pay by cash or debit, and you're handed a sealed package. You never leave the car. It runs 10am–10pm daily at our Las Cruces location.

Do you do curbside pickup?

Yes. Call ahead, park out front, and call again when you arrive. A staff member checks your ID at the car and brings your order out.

What payment methods do you take?

Cash, debit, and CashApp — with one catch: CashApp is in-store only, so it can't be used for curbside or at the drive-thru window. There's an ATM inside if you need cash.

Is there parking? Is the shop accessible?

Yes to both — there's parking on site and the shop is wheelchair accessible. Well-behaved pets are welcome inside, too.

I've never done this before. What should I buy?

Tell a budtender exactly that. Say how you'd like to take it, roughly what you want to spend, and what your evening looks like. We'll point you at something small and forgiving, and explain how to take it. Start low, go slow — one puff or half a piece, then wait.

How long does an edible take to kick in?

Generally anywhere from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and it can last 4–8 hours. That's why the golden rule is to wait a full two hours before considering more. Bodies vary; a full stomach or an empty one changes the timing. These are general ranges for the format, not a claim about any particular product.

Can I use it in the parking lot or in my car?

No. Consuming cannabis in public — including parking lots and vehicles — isn't legal in New Mexico. Keep it sealed until you're on private property where you're allowed to consume.

Can I take it back to Texas?

No. Cannabis is federally illegal, so crossing any state line with it — including into Texas, which is very close by — is against the law. Whatever you buy in New Mexico stays in New Mexico.

Do you have a menu with prices online?

Not on this site yet. The shelf changes often enough that a stale menu would be worse than none, so for what's in stock today and what it costs, call us or come in. Our stated edge over the bigger shops is straightforward: really good prices.

How new is Leaforo?
